Wilson Robb, BSc (Hons) – Chairman

An experienced Exploration Geologist with a solid managerial and entrepreneurial background, Wilson is a co-founder, Principal Geologist and Executive Chairman of Aurum. With technical and managerial experience within the mineral exploration industry, he has a proven track record of developing intuitive exploration programmes and successful identification of new gold and base-metal mineralization.


EurGeol Dr. Mark Holdstock, PGeo – Managing Director

Mark has more than 30 years exploration experience in areas ranging from grassroots to pre-mine feasibility work and resource estimations.  He has worked with Noranda, Billiton, Outokumpu and Boliden, and held senior management positions for 10 years at Tara Mines, before joining Aurum.  Mark specialises in carbonate hosted zinc deposits and carbonate stratigraphy as well as having extensive hands-on experience of directional drilling and geophysics.  During his time at Tara Mines, he led the team that discovered the 20Mt+ SWEX extension to the world class Navan Zn-Pb orebody.  He has extensive project management experience, working in varied geological terrains, with multi-disciplinary teams, exploring for gold, base-metal and industrial minerals in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Mark is a founder member and a former Board member of the Institute of Geologists of Ireland as well as a member of the European Federation of Geologists (EurGeol) and Irish Association of Economic Geologists (IAEG).


EurGeol Vaughan Williams, PGeo, MSc, ACSM – Corporate Secretary

Co-founder of Aurum Exploration Services, Vaughan has over 24 years experience in both field exploration planning and management as well as geological and mineral resource modelling on advanced drilling projects.  Prior to Aurum, Vaughan worked as a Senior Geologist for Navan Resources Plc, managing exploration programs in Ireland (Zn-Pb-Au), Almagrera / Sotiel (Cu-Pb-Zn-Au), Aguas Tenidas (Cu-Pb-Zn) and Los Santos (Tungsten).  He also worked at Bulgaria’s Chelopech high sulphidation gold deposit as a senior mine and regional exploration geologist.

Recently with Aurum he managed the Curraghinalt mesothermal gold project for Dalradian Gold Limited (2003-2011), significantly increasing the resource from 620,000 oz through to the present 2.7 million oz.   He has also managed other projects including an extensive phosphate QA/QC, exploration and resource evaluation project in Saudi Arabia.


EurGeol Dr. Sandy Archibald, PGeo – Technical Director

Sandy has over 20 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry and has participated in academic and industry projects throughout the Americas, Europe and Africa. He has been involved in gold, base-metal, uranium, diamond, and nickel exploration and has carried out extensive research on Au-Ag metal-rich geothermal systems. He is also a former Director of AIM-listed Alba Mineral Resources, a past-President of the Irish Association of Economic Geology, and a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geology.

Sandy is currently a director of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), and a Council Member (Canada and SE Asia) for The Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits (SGA).  He is a registered Professional Geologist (PGeo) through the Institute of Geologists of Ireland.


EurGeol Ian Farrelly PGeo, BA (Hons), PGradDip (Stat) – Director

Ian is a skilled exploration geologist and manager with over 15 years of international experience in both grassroots and mining environments.  He began his career with Noranda where he worked extensively on carbonate hosted Zn-Pb exploration programmes in Ireland and North America.  During this time he was part of the team that discovered The Pallas Green Zn-Pb deposit in Ireland.  Later, Ian worked for Anglo American before joining Aurum in 2003.  With Aurum, he has managed exploration programmes for a variety of deposit types and commodities in different jurisdictions.  He has also established significant expertise in evolving technologies such as Carbon Storage and Sequestration (CCS).  Ian is an experienced computing geologist specialising in QA/QC, orebody modelling and resource estimation.
